Spirituality

‘Most importantly, the meaning of spirituality lays the seeds for our destiny and the path we must follow.’

Dennis Banks

Spirituality means different things to different people.  For some it’s all about participating in organised religion, for other people it’s more about getting in touch with their own spiritual side through personal techniques such as meditation, yoga and private prayer.

So spirituality is not necessarily affiliated with religion but is based on your own personal journey, beliefs and self-awareness. It gives you the opportunity for self-discovery and learning who you are – and who you want to be – connecting with the world around you and finding your place in it.  It can help you develop more purpose and direction, and help you to develop positive beliefs that can offer comfort and can even help improve your health.

Quiet meditation or thought is an ideal way to start, or keeping a diary is another alternative; try writing down important moments or events and your own personal feelings, as this helps you to reflect on your life as it is.  It can also unlock your own aspirations and help you start to realise things that could make you happier.

For me personally I favour meditation and yoga, as well as the use of essential oils and crystals.  I’ve also kept a diary for a few years and I find it helps me greatly to write things down.

It’s been a long path that I’ve followed but it’s been so worthwhile.  I now feel I have created a far higher sense of well-being for myself, and feel a much higher degree of inner calm and peace.  It is most certainly achievable, so please don’t ever give up.
